About the department

Department of computer science was established in the year 1988. The primary objective of the department is to provide the best IT programming environment, to adopt industry practices through the industry ready curriculum and to train moral and ethical values among the student fraternity. Having this aim B.Sc computer science was started at the beginning later on M.Sc computer science Programme was started in the year 1999.

The 21st century mainly uses Data and information as the Asset in most of the corporates keeping this in mind another Postgraduate Programme called M.Sc Data analytics was started in the year 2019.

Why these courses?

The most important aspect of studying computer science is problem solving, an necessary skill for life. Students study the design, development and analysis of software and hardware used to solve complications in a variety of business, scientific and social situations. Because computers solve problems to serve people, there is a significant human side to computer science as well.

Credits & Evaluation

The knowledge level of the student after going through the subjects is assessed by giving curricular and co-curricular activities such as Quiz, Assignments, Seminars,           IT Forums and workshops.

Continues Internal Assessment, Model Examinations are being conducted to assess the learning outcomes of the students after studying the courses. They are being awarded appropriate credits based on their performance both in CIA and ESE.      

Apart from Core and Allied papers the students are offered with EDC, IDC, Modular and Certificate courses final year UG and PG students are given Project / Internship so that they can implement the concepts of the courses they have studied. Also they get hands on experience in developing and deploying projects.
