Grievance Redressal Committee
Grievance Redressal Committee
CMS College of Engineering and Technology has established a fruitful and useful mechanism for resolving students’ day-to-day problems and grievances. In accordance with University Grants Commission regulations, a Grievance Redressal Cell has been established in CMS College of Engineering and Technology, with the Principal appointed as chairperson. Members of the Grievance Redressal Cell will be nominated by the chairperson.
The Grievance Redressal Cell was formed solely to provide solutions to student grievances that arise on the spot. Students are free to submit their grievances regarding academic or personal matters at the meeting held on the first week of each month, by dropping them in the suggestion boxes provided on our campus, or by sending them through online email to principal@cmscet.com.
When grievances are received, the Grievance Redressal Cell carefully examines, analyses, and discusses them with the concerned party in order to reach an amicable solution that is in the best interests of both parties. If the grievances are found to be false, the students are informed of the reasons for not implementing them. The Grievance Redressal Cell ensures that strict confidentiality is maintained in all cases.
Objectives
- To maintain a fair, unbiased, and consistent system for resolving various issues encountered by students.
- To maintain strict confidentiality so that students may approach the Grievance Redressal Cell without fear of retaliation.
- To maintain a conducive environment and relationship between students and faculty without giving any opportunity for the gap between them to widen due to simple misunderstandings.
- To ensure that appropriate actions are taken as soon as possible by addressing the faculty or requesting management, depending on the nature of the grievance.
Procedure
- The Grievance Redressal Cell usually meets twice a year. However, if immediate action is required due to the nature of the grievance, the Grievance Redressal Cell will meet immediately and take the necessary steps to redress the grievances.
- Students can send their grievance letters to the principal@cmscet.com or drop them off in the suggestion boxes provided on campus.
- The grievances dropped in the suggestion boxes are collected on a regular basis, analysed by the committee, and forwarded to the relevant department for comments. Following receipt of the comments, the committee discusses them and, if genuine, takes appropriate action to resolve the grievances.
- If the grievances concern a management decision, the committee will submit a report to the management with its observations or recommendations.
- If the grievances are found to be unreasonable, the students are informed of the impossibility of putting them into action.
